Dear HomeVet Family,

Wow!  The fun we have had!

Every day for the last 13 years I have felt so very welcomed into your homes as you trusted me with the health and comfort of your little family members.   So with very mixed emotions I am hanging up my stethoscope. I have decided that I’d like to try something new.

My plan is to stop seeing appointments by mid-February. I’m not sure what new direction I will pursue but I’d like to get involved in the bigger picture of veterinary medicine. Maybe I’ll find a way to contribute to global health, medical education or even support other mom veterinarians as they navigate their careers. Who knows, maybe I’ll go back to school!

As far as a replacement, I am hoping to find a local practicing veterinarian to jump in but that is probably asking for too much. I will start to reach out to my colleagues.  In the meantime, I think it is a good idea for you to find a local vet who is taking new clients and get started building a relationship with them.

In any case, when possible, I’ll continue to provide in-home euthanasia for the near future while I work on discovering what’s next.

I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to really get to know you and your families and witness up close the love you have for each other and your pets. Thank you for that.

Yours truly,

Jaime

Some topics you might have questions about:

Medication refills:

I have a portal with Chewy and will do medication refills for your pets as they arrive.  The rule with medications is that I have to have seen the pet within a year to renew any prescriptions.  If the medication is something that needs a follow-up exam or bloodwork you’ll need to set up a visit with your new vet for that.

Your pets’ records:

Pennsylvania requires me to keep records available for 3 years so either I or my records service will be able to send them to you or your new vet during that time period. I will post instructions on my website for you.

Continuity of care:

If your new vet would like to contact me for more details of a pet’s medical care I will make myself available.

Contact information after January:

I will be going back to my old number since I will be cancelling my medical software text number.  Email will also be a good way to contact me.  jaimeloganvet@gmail.com  267-225-3375 (text)
